Ulm Hash re-start Saturday 14th June 2025 in Ulm.
Registration of interest details after this “short” explanation.

About 5 years after SH3 started, in April 1975, I (Teq) went to work in Ulm (West Germany).
I had been an SH3 Joint Master for about 9 months and had helped organise the 250th Hash Celebration trail and “Party” (Curry and Piss-up). I agreed to start work in Ulm soon after Christmas on the understanding they would fly me back for the 250th towards the end of January 1980. All went well…. BUT they will never ever let us hire the Red Cross hut in Ottershaw EVER AGAIN!

On returning to Ulm; I met up with a bunch of English speaking Germans at a Jazz club and they invited me to join what was called “The Nice Peoples’ Club” which met in the bar/restaurant of a hotel every Wednesday. Why they let ME join I’ll never know!!

Not long after joining, new members were asked to present themselves, their work, pastimes and sports…. I told them about Hashing and once I mentioned beer and parties they were Gung Ho, so we had our first Ulm Hash on 8-Jun-1980; UH3:1!

As some may know; Ulm is not far from the pinnacle of Beer events; The Munich Oktoberfest so I felt encumbant to organise a visit by SH3 to the 1980 Oktoberfest, which as not many people know starts on the last Saturday in September and runs for 2 weeks.
Hash “Royalty” (Run No. 2!); Lionel (Dr. Tyepin) Tye, acted as the UK end organisation and I had a team of enthusistic and efficient Germans, Americans, Brits and ERIC (!!) to do the German end.

It all went pretty well; the Oktoberfest opening parade and all afternoon session on the saturday and UH3:7 on the Sunday; ask The Gurneys, Svend and Eva, Graham and Cherry, Ann and Steve to name but a few!!

Anyway….long story short the Ulm HHH ran on Sundays about every two weeks all the time I was there (until mid 1982) and continued until at least 19-Jun-1983 for run 77 whose detail was documented by a Tee-shirt, and either stopped then or soon after.

Why am I telling you all this? Well a Brit residing in Ulm: Nick (Gay Sailor) Martin; Munich, and Stuttgart, Hash House Harriers heard about the rise… and fall of UH3 and IS STARTING IT UP AGAIN on Saturday 14th June 2025 in Ulm.
There is an open invitation to all, hashers and non-hashers, Chunderos and I have been invited as “Honoured Guests” and have booked flights.
Guess what!? Nick and I have worked up a Google Form and Flyer so take a look and register interest. You might have to get your skates on for flights if you want to attend so get cracking!!
