FORMAL INVITATIONS TO BE EMAILED AFTER XMAS
May 2026 – Surrey Hash Spring getaway
SBJ, Blue Suit and RHUM are looking into the possibility of a spring getaway in the wonderful New Forest. There is availability at the Sandy Balls Holiday Village which is surrounded by hashing heaven countryside and has pubs on the doorstep plus excellent facilities.
We are thinking week commencing 11 May for one or two nights (the weekend is probably too expensive and most of the hash is retired anyway). The cost for the accommodation is circa £100 a night per person sharing lodges.
Have a look at the website and let me know if there is any interest? Please let us know here: Expression of Interest.
19-20 September 2026 – Eskimo’s Big Birthday celebration in Hastings
Eskimo has booked the Shear Barn campsite Main Restaurant exclusively for the party on Saturday 19th September.
She will be asking for numbers closer to the time as she will be booking food and putting a certain amount of money behind the bar.
It will be a weekend away with a ‘hangover run’ on Sunday 20th.
The idea will be that people camp or hire a lodge at Shear Barn or book their own accommodation in Old Hastings (taxi approx. £6 or can walk to the campsite – the party venue).
4 – 8 September 2026 – SH3 European Escape to Provence
Details here:
- Where: Domaine du Bois D’Amont (https://bois-damont.com/), Cabris, France
- Transport: Flight to Nice Airport is the closest. Hire car at airport – share car hire costs among 4-5 if you can. Can also catch a train from Nice airport to Grasse (Grasse is 10 mins drive from the accommodation – kind wheeled hasher may collect you?).
- When: Check in Friday 4th September to Check out Tuesday 8th September (4 nights)
- Friday – on site gathering and eating (bread, hams, cheeses, olives, etc etc…beer and wine) at accommodation since hashers will arrive in dribs and drabs
- Saturday – morning, get to know the accommodation (pool, petanque, tennis, Cabris village a 2km walk away; hash run in afternoon (Hares: Bigfoot and MIA) including beer stop, followed by On site On On – large terrace overlooking the Mediterranean at our accommodation)
- Sunday – leisurely morning hash forest walk ending in Cabris, for lunch altogether; afternoon…carry on the leisurely party at bois d”amont (??)
- Monday – visit to Grasse, and all it has to offer.
- Tuesday – morning check out
- Who: About 38 pax availability, but more can be squeezed in if absolutely necessary. First options will go to SH3 members only. We are also likely to ask a few members of Riviera Hash, but may or may not have accommodation for them at Bois d’Amont. SH3 founder was also the founder of Riviera Hash. Bigfoot may also have two French hash friends attending, who live nearby and can help with logistics.
- Cost: Likely to be in the region of £260 per head for 4 nights (£65 per person per night). Any excess money collected will go to buying food necessities from local supermarket, breakfast, beer, wine and so on. If anything left after that, may go into SH3 Hash coffers??
- Approximately 50% Deposit on confirmation of attendance: £125 per head.
- Those that confirm will be provided with bank details to make online transfer.
- Accommodation: How to distribute accommodation yet to be planned. Although most accommodation units below can sleep 4 by using a sofa bed, for the most (or all) part we will aim to avoid this, unless, for example, 4 harriettes request this as a group.
